چکیده

Tropical Australia. Streams and rivers of the Australian tropics have been subject substantial hydrological process research spanning last 50 years. In this review, we highlight initial efforts to understand response forested ecosystems in humid tropics, how has more recently followed by work savannas seasonal tropics. We describe recent findings from modelling tracer studies derive a framework dominant processes for region. also detail five critical knowledge gaps that will require further attention with climate change ongoing interest development outline diversity runoff generation mechanisms prevail region emphasise role connected wetlands floodplains catchment response. discuss prominence focused, episodic recharge replenishment groundwater stores across review potential water resource projects may alter hydrology northern catchments. Future should focus on improving our physical understanding key processes, as well anticipate likely effects these processes. Intensive long-term experimental observatories, which capture landscapes climates region, help frame sustainable policies

Investigation of dominant hydrological processes in a tropical catchment in a monsoonal climate via the downward approach

This study explores the dominant processes that may be responsible for the observed streamflow response in Seventeen Mile Creek, a tropical catchment located in a monsoonal climate in Northern Territory, Australia. The hydrology of this vast region of Australia is poorly understood due to the low level of information and gauging that are available. Any insights that can be gained from the few w...
